Welcome to this 4-part video series featuring Relax Asia's 2012 tour of China. It includes Chengdu, Xi'an, Xinmi, Shaolin, Wudang, Hangzhou and Hengdian. While this tour was mostly for Tai Chi students wanting to train with Master Zhao, visit Shaolin and Wudang Mountains, it also focused heavily on sight-seeing and cultural immersion.
In this first video, we explore the city of Chengdu, practice tai chi with the locals, visit the Panda Sanctuary and the Giant Buddha at Le Shan.
This video highlights our visit to Mount Emei and then on to Xi'an.
We visit the Terra Cotta Warriors, do a Calligraphy Class, catch the fast train to Zhengzhou and transfer to the remote town of Xinmi. In Xinmi we commence tai chi Umbrella training with Master Zhao Wei Dong. Video features a Wu Shu demonstration by Master Zhao's junior students and a demonstration of the Umbrella Form by Master Zhao.
Xinmi is a totally non-tourist town where many locals have never even seen a live waiguoren ( foreigner ). This made for some wonderful experiences interacting with the people of the town.
Video also includes Master Zhao's school and a visit to the Shaolin Temple.
Last night in Xinmi, features a really fun night at the Old Ponderosa.
Drive from Xinmi to Wudangshan, the legendary birthplace of taijiquan. This is where ZhangSanFeng witnessed the battle between a bird and a snake that helped fuel part of the philosophy behind taiji.
Drive from Wudang to Wuhan, then flight to Hangzhou.
Sights of Hangzhou, half a day's biking and Impressions by Zhang Yi Mou.
Drive to Hengdian ( huge movie set including an exact scale replica of the Forbidden City ). More of Hangzhou and around West Lake.
